Fresh, local ingredients — often selected by your ship’s chef on a trip to the local market — along with seasonal produce and culinary ingenuity, go into each perfectly presented dish. And naturally, you have a choice of venues to dine in, all with open seating. Dinner in the exquisite AmphorA, lunch alfresco at Veranda, dessert in Stella Bistro. Or drinks and dinner at a magical, moonlit Candles.

Every meal is just what you'd expect on your private yacht -  perfect. You're free to dine when, where, and with whomever you please.

Wind Star Executive Chef:

Graeme Cockburn is the corporate executive chef for Windstar Cruises and has enjoyed an illustrious career establishing himself as an innovator affiliated with the crème de la crème of cuisine, including formative training with the world famous Glen Eagles Hotel and Royal Scotsman train, London's exclusive Boodles club, and the Pompadour Restaurant Edinburgh. Cockburn answered the allure of travel when recruited by the venerable Cunard line to introduce the Queen Mary II and then went on to establish a name synonymous with success in the cruise industry also working in various culinary capacities for Princess Cruises, and Seabourn. The celebrated chef trained with Michelin-awarded chefs Michel Guerard and Michel Roux.


It's breakfast alfresco, full service or buffet-style, anytime till 9:30 a.m. No need to hurry. Again, the choices are many in Veranda. Choose the sumptuous, seemingly endless buffet. Or, order from the lunch menu between noon and 2:30 p.m.


Here, the dining room manager seats you, but where is your decision. There are no pre-assigned tables or first or second seatings. When you dine and with whom are entirely up to you. Seating usually begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be printed in the ship's daily program. Each delightful dish is prepared exactly to your liking – an exquisite dinner served course-by-course with a fine selection of vintage wines.

Stella Bistro

Treat your palate to the French-inspired café cuisine of Stella Bistro, Wind Surf’s alternative restaurant. You’ll find delightfully indulgent desserts and a wonderful array of wines specifically paired to the meal. (Wind Surf only)


Here’s the perfect place for a romantic tête-a-tête under the stars in Candles, Windstar’s signature outdoor restaurant transformed by night into a dreamlike paradise. Delectable cuisine, memorable surroundings, inspired wine pairing.

Deck BBQ Event

One of the highlights of your cruise will be the spectacular onboard barbecue.  Your attentive crew will serve an amazing meal of fresh local ingredients accompanied by their own special brand of entertainment for an evening of entertainment under the stars.

It’s the perfect pairing. Windstar Cruises and the James Beard Foundation are partnered to bring you culinary experiences that are 180 degrees from ordinary. Through this program, Windstar works with James Beard to bring together some of the most talented chefs and sommeliers on themed cruises and in our dining program. Imagine dining on dishes created by not just one celebrity chef, but a list of all-stars with the likes of Maxime Bilet (The Cooking Lab),  Evan Hanzcor (Egg), and Jose Mendin (Pubbelly Noodle Bar, Habitat, Baja Bao). Our themed cruises featuring James Beard Foundation chefs and beverage experts are a foodie’s dream, with chef demos, special beverage pairings, and market tours. And learn their secrets as you watch demos of their recipes on every sailing.
